Greek Dance

St. George’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral at the Hellenic Community of Vancouver has three dance groups.

The three dance groups under the umbrella name of Enosis is an homage to the original dance group that represented the Hellenic Community of Vancouver in the early to mid 1970s.   After starting a “soft launch” in March, the feedback has been very positive and we look forward to starting in the fall with a dance program that will teach our children not just to dance but to learn about the different types of dances, where they come from and have fun!

We are pleased to be offered three groups which will not only learn dances but will be performing at Community events and functions as well as local Food Festivals and Greek Day!

Practice days are every Tuesday and will typically take place in the church atrium/overflow area.

Our youngest group is the “The Filarakia” and is for children in Grade 1 to Grade 6.  Their practice time is 6:15 to 7:00 pm.

Our teen group consists of kids in Grades 7 to 11 and is called “H Parea”.  They practice 7:00 to 8:00 pm.

Our young adult group, ENOSIS, is for those in Grade 12 to 25 years old and they practice from 8:00 to 9:00pm.

Registration will begin on Sunday, September 25th with practices starting the first Tuesday in October.

The program will run until end of June/early July and is set up in two terms:  October- January and February-June.  The cost per term is $50 for members and $75 for non-members.
