Happy Ecclesiastical New Year!

We are pleased to announce that our catechism program (Sunday School) began on Sunday, October 1st, 2023. We look forward to getting to know your child(ren) in the year ahead. We pray that the school journey will be blessed and peaceful, most of all that your child will grow into a good and loving human being. God bless all the children and may the Holy Spirit guide and protect them.

If you would like your child to join our program for the 2023/24 year, please register using the registration form below.

Learn about Christ and the Orthodox Church

A 45-minute lesson will take place immediately after Holy Communion each Sunday starting with the Agiasmos on Sunday, 1st October.
Once your child has communed please have them wait in the narthex (entrance area) of the church where the teachers will accompany your child to the classroom.
The lesson will begin at approximately 11:15am and finish at 12 noon.
Parents are asked to wait outside the classroom to pick up their children. Please be ready to pick up 5 minutes before the end of class (the lesson will take place in the main hall upstairs Media room)
If you would like to pick up your child earlier than 12:00pm for any reason, please inform the teacher ahead of the class (to minimize disruptions)

The Hellenic Community of Vancouver (the “Community”) operates a variety of programs at the community centre but also through our church, St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. The Community is authorized to collect, use, and share student personal information that is directly related to and necessary for their educational functions. For other school or education-related purposes, parental or student consent is required. The Community requires your consent to collect, keep, use and share photographs, videos, images, and/or names of students to use on the Community’s website, district publications, e-newsletters, posters, social media sites and videos for education related purposes, such as recognizing and encouraging student achievement, building the school community and informing others about the Community programs and activities.
